Register with the Federal Communications Commission to obtain your FRN number. Every Amateur Radio Operator needs to have a FRN at the test time.

After you have studied (at your pace or with a group) it is time to take some practice tests! Use the practice tests on HamStudy.org and keep taking them until you are consistently scoring 85%. Remember, you only need a 74% (that’s 26 out of 35 questions) to pass the technician test, so 85% on a practice is a good indicator that you will do well!
